Olivia Cartagena

“My world revolves around music, I can’t imagine who I would be without it.”

Music has been at the heart of Olivia’s life since she was 4 years old. She started playing piano on a little pink keyboard, and it has grown into her true passion since. As a form of expression, piano has been therapeutic and inspirational for her. In addition to playing piano, she also plays violin for the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, and sings. She is a junior at Land O’ Lakes High School and is part of their marching band and jazz ensemble. She participated in solo and ensemble in 2023 and received a Superior with Distinction. She attended FSU’s piano institute music camp and studied with Dr. Sasanfar, and has taken masterclasses with Geoffrey Burleson, the professor of music and director of piano studies at Hunter College in NYC. She is an avid performer and loves to create music. She aspires to study music in college.
